The National Weather Service has confirmed an EF-0 tornado touched down in Martin County Tuesday evening with wind speeds that reached 85 miles per hour.
Eyewitness accounts indicate a brief and weak tornado was skipping across this area with damage noted in two locations. A few trees were down across Dover Hill Road and also on Killion Mill Rd.
Pictures also showed a funnel cloud southeast of Loogootee, but no damage has been reported from that area as of this time.
The tornado was part of a large severe weather system caused by the remnants of Hurricane Beryl.
