Applications Being Taken for Residential Safe Room Program

The Indiana Department of Homeland Security says the Residential Safe Room Program application period is now open.

Applications are due July 31st using the safe room application form.

IDHS will select 25 applicants randomly to receive a rebate for a safe room to be installed in their Indiana residence.

If approved, applicants will be reimbursed 75% ($5,000 maximum) of their safe room installation costs.

IDHS says a properly designed safe room can protect you and your family during extreme weather events like tornadoes.
