Oakland City University Files Warn Notice with State About Possible Mass Layoff

Oakland City University has notified the state of the possibility of a mass layoff at the facility on June 1st.

In a WARN Notice filed with the state, the university says a sixty-day notification was given to workers on Wednesday, with the estimated first date of separation being June 1st.

However, the university says on its Facebook page that it does not\ anticipate having to close and that the WARN notice was given on the advice of the university’s attorney to give employees notice of the possibility of layoffs due to financial strains.

Oakland City University stresses it has made no plans to lay off employees.
