Washington Community Schools received a $250 second-semester Teaching Innovator Grant from Our Community Foundation for the project “That’s Not My Monster.”
Kim Conder, Washington Elementary Art Teacher, accepted the award and was named a Teaching Innovator.
First-grade art students will create monster drawings inspired by Fiona Watt’s book, which upper elementary students will then turn into three-dimensional stuffed creatures through basic sewing techniques.
