Toyota Motor North America is investing $1 billion into its Kentucky and Indiana plants to ramp up production for both electric and high-demand gas vehicles.
The Princeton, Indiana plant will use $200 million to boost production of the Grand Highlander SUV.
The Georgetown, Kentucky plant will receive $800 million to prepare for its second battery-electric vehicle and increase output of the Camry and RAV4.
This funding is part of a larger $10 billion five-year plan for U.S. operations.
