The Gibson County Sheriff’s Office says a Haubstadt man was arrested Sunday for causing near fatal head injuries to an infant.
Authorities say 23-year-old Zachary Rogers, the child’s father, admitted to causing the injuries.
The investigation began when the infant was taken to Deaconess Gateway Hospital in Newburgh.
Police stationed at the hospital contacted the Gibson County Sheriff’s Office saying the injury was believed to have occurred in the 52-hundred block of East 11-50 South near Haubstadt.
Rogers is being held without bond in the Gibson County Detention Center on a preliminary charge of Neglect Resulting in Serious Bodily Injury.
