An 82-year-old Bicknell man has been sentenced to a maximum of 12 years in prison after pleading guilty to sexually abusing a 14-year-old girl.
Knox County Prosecutor Dirk Carnahan says the case against Michael Jones was filed in 2021 but began years before.
Carnahan argued for the maximum 12-year sentence due to what he called the damage and trauma caused to the survivor of the abuse as well as the damage to her family.
Carnahan also argued that Jones had violated conditions of bond by stalking his victim.
Knox Circuit Court Judge Monica Gilmore agreed … and sentenced Jones to 12 years in the Indiana Department of Corrections.
