The Indiana Senate has passed the FAIRNESS Act, a new immigration enforcement bill now heading to the Governor’s desk.
Authored by Senator Liz Brown, the bill requires local police to honor federal detainer requests and bans “sanctuary” policies at cities and colleges.
It also allows the Attorney General to go after businesses that hire undocumented workers and requires new reporting on non-citizens receiving state benefits.
