The Indiana Senate has voted 26-to-22 to approve a bill to authorize a 14th state casino license.
Three counties in northeastern Indiana will be allowed to pursue a new casino and the winning company would have to spend at least 500-million-dollars on the casino and related amenities.
The Fort Wayne area casino was endorsed by the Senate even as senators objected to a lack of a local referendum on where people would like the casino to be built.
Allen, DeKalb, and Steuben counties will have the ability to compete for the casino.
