The Indiana House has passed a bill that Republicans say will reinforce local cooperation with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
Senate Bill 76, known at “The Fairness Act,” requires local police to fully cooperate with federal ICE agents.
Representative J.D. Prescott of Union City adds it will “ensure we don’t have sanctuary-style policies in Indiana.”
The bill is now headed back to the state Senate as the House made amendments that need to be signed off on before going to Governor Braun.
