The Indiana Department of Health is urging Hoosiers to get vaccinated after confirming the first flu-related death of the 2025-26 season.
State Health Commissioner Dr. Lindsay Weaver stressed the importance of prevention, noting that over 660 Hoosiers died from flu last season.
The CDC recommends everyone age 6 months and older get a flu shot annually.
Health officials also advise practicing the “Three Cs” — Clean hands, Cover coughs, and Contain illness by staying home.
