As the 98th National FFA Convention and Expo kicks off this Wednesday in Indianapolis, Hoosier Ag Today is shining the spotlight on Farm Credit Mid-America and their long-time support of Indiana FFA. They have committed to providing an additional $80,000 each year for the next four years to Indiana FFA.
One project that Farm Credit Mid-America is proud to provide direct support is the construction of an Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)-compliant cabin at the Indiana FFA Leadership Center near Trafalgar in Johnson County.
“We don’t see that just as a donation it’s a long-term investment in the future of agriculture,” says Jason Wilson, Regional Vice President of Agricultural Lending with Farm Credit Mid-America serving the Columbia City area. He also serves on the Board of Directors and is currently Treasurer for the Indiana FFA Foundation.
Designed to provide modern accommodation, support sustainable growth and ensure that regardless of ability, the cabin will allow participants to fully experience the invaluable leadership and educational opportunities offered at FFA camp.
“The cabin project is a symbol of progress and inclusivity within the agriculture community,” says Lisa Chaudion, Executive Director of the Indiana FFA Foundation. “It doesn’t just represent a new building, but a commitment to ensuring that every aspiring agriculture leader has the opportunity to thrive.”

“I think Indiana FFA and Farm Credit Mid-America, in all the things that we do, want to make sure that we have the infrastructure in place so that students and members of FFA can succeed in whatever area they choose to go into when they become adults and those citizens that serve every single day,” adds Chaudion.
In addition to the ADA-compliant cabin, Farm Credit Mid-America has also provided funding for updates to an officer dorm at the Indiana FFA Camp.
“It’s important when we’re looking at securing the future of rural communities in agriculture, that we stay focused on programs like FFA that provide the service, training, and development for those who are going to be the future of agriculture,” says Wilson. “We will continue to invest in FFA and we just couldn’t be more proud of the partnership that we have with Indiana FFA.”
