A new Kinsey Institute study has found gaps in sex education could have lasting impacts through adulthood, leading to things like relationship struggles, lack of confidence and reduced quality of life.
For the study researchers surveyed nearly four-thousand single U.S. adults on topics usually included in comprehensive sex education programs.
The researchers found close to a third never received any form of information about healthy relationships, consent, communicating with partners, or dating during their youth from any source.
Only one topic was taught to the majority of those surveyed, with 55-percent reporting they learned about reproduction or pregnancy.
