The Gibson County Sheriff’s Office says two Oakland City residents were arrested Sunday after a deputy performing a security check on a building near Haubstadt found them inside.
The sheriff’s office says 53-year-old Homer Dersch and 33-year-old Katie Henderson attempted to flee.
Dersch was charged with Burglary with a Deadly Weapon while Henderson was charged with Burglary, Possession of Methamphetamine, and Possession of Paraphernalia.
Law enforcement had been on alert at the time due to a series of recent burglaries in the area.
