A new report from the Indiana Hospital Association reveals the state’s hospitals generate over $63 billion in annual economic activity.
However, these hospitals, which employ over 111,000 Hoosiers, face a threat from proposed federal Medicaid cuts.
According to the Urban Institute, these cuts from the One Big Beautiful Bill Act could cost Indiana hospitals over $12 billion in the next decade, which may lead to reduced services, layoffs, or even hospital closures.
