Oakland City Woman Facing Charges after Hitting Pedestrian and Leaving the Scene

A rural Oakland City woman is facing multiple charges after hitting a pedestrian with her car on South State Road 57 in Gibson County and leaving the scene.

The person struck by the car was able to tell Gibson County Sheriff’s deputies who the driver of the car was and where to find her.

55-year-old Stephanie Scott was located in the parking lot of Lighthouse Christian Church in Oakland City.

Following an investigation, Scott was arrested for Battery with a Deadly Weapon, Possession of Marijuana, Criminal Recklessness with a Deadly Weapon, and Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated.
