The Indiana Department of Natural Resources says organizations in 12 Indiana counties will receive over 1.3 million dollars in grants to fund 18 lake, river, and watershed land treatment projects through the DNR’s Lake and River Enhancement, or LARE, program.
$34,000 was awarded for a Watershed Land Treatment project along Pigeon Creek in Gibson County and $44,000 went to an Engineering Design Project along the West Fork of the White River in Owen County.
Many of the projects aim to improve water quality by reducing sediment and nutrient inputs.
