Final Execution Date Being Ordered for Man Convicted of Killing 15-Year-Old

A final execution date is being ordered for a man convicted of killing a 15-year-old in Spencer County.

Roy Ward was sentenced to death in 2007 for the 2001 rape and murder of Stacy Payne.

The Indiana Supreme Court has set an execution date for Ward of October 10th.

This comes after Indiana Attorney General Todd Rokita asked for an execution date to be set back in June.
