Governor’s Helicopter Use Totals Nearly $24,000 from March Through August

Indiana Governor Mike Braun has made extensive use of the Indiana State Police helicopter for personal travel, costing taxpayers $23,880 over 11 flights between March and August.

The state has defended the expense, saying the flights are needed to meet FAA-mandated flight hour requirements for pilots.

However, the governor’s use of the helicopter for personal trips has raised questions about the necessity and cost of his transportation.
