Farmers and Hunters Feeding the Hungry, a nonprofit organization that utilizes its network of hunters and farmers to provide meat to local food pantries, was chosen as a recent recipient of $3,000 through a Utilities District of Western Indiana REMC Community Fund grant.
The Greene County Chapter of FHFH, established in the early 2000s, partners with hunters and farmers in the area, encouraging them to donate their deer harvest and livestock.
After receiving the donations, the organization sends the meat to its processing partners who process the meat, free of charge, into one-pound packages of ground burger that are donated to nine local food pantries.
