Bill Requiring Seat Belts in Illinois School Buses Heads to Gov’s Desk

A bill that would require seat belts for all new Illinois school buses is heading to Governor Pritzker’s desk.

The state House and Senate passed legislation that would require any school bus manufactured in Illinois to have three-point seat belts starting in 2031.

Supporters of the bill believe it will improve student safety.
