The Indiana Department of Corrections killed death row inmate Benjamin Ritchie early Tuesday morning.
Ritchie was executed for killing a Beech Grove police officer nearly 25-years ago and he had been on death row since being found guilty in 2002.
Defense attorney Steve Schutte told reporters he saw his client’s body “violently” twitching for around three seconds before he relaxed and didn’t move for another few minutes.
Ritchie was pronounced dead at 12:46 a.m.
