Clay Co. Man Arrested in January 6th Capitol Riot

A Clay County, Indiana man is facing charges including assaulting law enforcement during the January 6th Capitol riot.

The FBI says 34-year-old Nicholas Scott Ingram Hofer of Carbon, Indiana surrendered Wednesday at the Federal Courthouse in Indianapolis.

He will make his initial appearance in the Southern District of Indiana.

Court documents say Hofer picked up a “wooden exhibit stand and threw it.”

Hofer also knocked down another rioter who was in his path.

He is also accused of helping take a shield away from a police officer.
