Petersburg and Pike County held a groundbreaking Tuesday for the Meadows at Parkview subdivision project.
It’s the first single-family subdivision in Petersburg and Pike County in over 35 years.
The subdivision includes 60 acres of land that has been annexed into the City of Petersburg and set up in a residential TIF district for future phases of the development.
Phase one of the development includes infrastructure, excavation, a multi-use pathway leading to the City Park with new playground equipment, and 24 lots ready for new home construction.
As the subdivision is completely built out there will be a total of 102 new single-family homes.
The Indiana First Region awarded READI 1.0 funds to this project of over 1.2 million dollars, with matching funding from Pike County, City of Petersburg and the new homes to be constructed.
Pike County is part of the Indiana First Region, which received a $15 million READI 1.0 allocation.
