
The Knox County Sheriff’s Office is warning the public about a phone scam in which the caller identifies themself as a Vanderburgh County Sheriff Deputy.
The Intended victim was faxed documents that appeared to be legitimate indicating she had missed a court date.
The caller then told her she needed to pay by using the CoinFlip Bitcoin ATM on 6th Street to pay her fine or she would be arrested immediately.
The sheriff’s office reminds you no law enforcement agency will call you or email you anything demanding money from you.
If you do get a call from someone saying they are law enforcement and they are demanding money hang up immediately and don’t give out any personal information.
