There has been a little bit of improvement by Indiana’s third graders on the IREAD test scores, but over 14-thousand students are still behind.
The results released by the Indiana Department of Education show 82-point-five percent of third graders passed the test, with that rate being 81-point-five percent for public schools and 92-point-five percent for private schools.
The state has a goal of 95-percent of students being able to read proficiently by 2027.
Last year, nearly 82-percent of students had a score indicating they can read proficiently.
