The Knox County Sheriff’s Office says a Vincennes man was arrested recently for Domestic Battery as the result of iPhone crash detection.
Although there was no crash, the damaged iPhone was located along the side of a road.
When the owner went to pick up the phone at the sheriff’s office, a deputy noticed she had injuries to her face.
Turns out the woman was in a car with her ex-boyfriend who struck her and threw her phone out the window of the vehicle when she refused his demands to see her phone.
Her iPhone’s crash detection feature was triggered when the phone was tossed out the window.
27-year-old Benjamin Michael Youngren of Vincennes was arrested on charges of Domestic Battery resulting in serious bodily injury, Interference in reporting a crime, and Invasion of Privacy.
