A Bedford man was arrested Tuesday for both possessing and distributing child pornography.
Police say the investigation into 43-year-old Joshua Shane Carter started with cybertips from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
They said they discovered evidence that Carter had shared some child pornography files on Discord, which is an instant messaging social media platform that allows users to communicate with other users through voice calls, video calls, text messaging, and other media.
After Carter was arrested, he was taken to the Lawrence County Jail.
He’s facing three counts of distribution of child pornography under the age of 12, which is a level 4 felony.
Carter is also charged with seven counts of child pornography possession, which is a level 5 felony.
