Indiana Lawmakers Considering New Law on School Board Approval of Sex Education Lessons

indiana-legislature2

Indiana lawmakers are considering a bill requiring school boards to approve sex education lessons.

It would also make schools list these materials on their websites.

Some people are worried about who gets to decide what’s in sex education and what sexuality means.

On Tuesday, the Indiana Senate voted 38 to 10 in favor of the bill.

It now heads to the House for further consideration.

Under the bill, school boards would have to agree on all the materials used to teach students about “human sexuality” by July 1st.
