Victim’s Cellphone Leads Tell City Police to Hit and Run Driver

Tell City Police say an unexpected break led to the arrest of the driver of an SUV who struck a juvenile and fled the scene Friday.

Police say the juvenile’s injuries were non-life threatening.

Investigators got a break in the case while searching for the juveniles missing cell phone.

The phone’s GPS coordinates led officers to a parked black sport utility vehicle a few blocks away.

The vehicle had damage to its front end and the juvenile’s cellphone was found on the windshield of the vehicle.

40-year-old Heath Schreiner of Tell City was arrested for Leaving the Scene of an Accident Resulting in Moderate Bodily Injury.
