Knox County Commissioners Pass Solar Ordinance

The Knox County Commissioners have made final approval of the first County solar ordinance.  The measure will regulate solar farm developments throughout the County.

The rule was made necessary by Tenaska’s efforts to put an over 110-million dollar solar farm along State Road 61 just north of the White River.  A second company, Origis, is also planning a possible solar farm development near the power plant just northwest of Wheatland in Washington Township.

The final approval followed input by company and government officials, along with the opinions of the Knox County Development Corporation.
