The first day to legally purchase recreational marijuana in Illinois is in the books. Illinois Lieutenant Governor Juliana Stratton took part in the historic day by buying edible THC gummies at Sunnyside Dispensary in Chicago yesterday.
Thousands waited in long lines at dispensaries around the Chicago-area to buy pot in all of its forms. The Sun Times reports Renzo Mejia [[ hen-zo mah-hee-ya ]] made the first legal purchase in the state yesterday morning at Dispensary 33 in Chicago. Illinois became the eleventh state to legalize recreational marijuana at the start of the new year.
