Knox County Councilman Tim Crowley continues to prepare for his departure from Council at the end of the year. Earlier this month, Crowley announced his intent to step down from his Council At-Large seat at the end of this year.
Crowley was appointed to the seat upon the death of former Council Steve Thais. He says everything lined up for him to fill the rest of Thais’ term. After filling the rest of the term, Crowley won a full term to Council in 2016; he says it wasn’t his intention to run for a full term in the beginning, but as part of the appointment, he was asked to run for a full term the next year.
Crowley’s replacement will be selected in a county-wide Democrat caucus in early December. The appointment will fill the remaining year of Crowley’s term; the seat is up for election again in 2020.
