Indiana BMV: Gender Neutral Licenses Still Available

Folks in Indiana who want to have a gender neutral driver license should still be able to get one.

The state’s Bureau of Motor Vehicles says the decision from Indiana Attorney General Curtis Hill not to sign-off on the gender neutral procedure shouldn’t stop anyone from changing their license or state ID.

Hill yesterday said he doesn’t think the rules for changing someone’s license include enough notification.

The BMV says anyone who wants a new gender, or no gender on their license, needs a note from a doctor or a new birth certificate to make the change.
