Anthem Contract with JMH Expires November 27th

Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center in Jasper says it has yet to come to terms on a new contract with Anthem Insurance.

The hospital was informed by Anthem the contract will expire on November 27th.

The contract includes the care Anthem members receive through Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center and Memorial Hospital Physician Offices.

The hospital says it has been working for three years to reach a mutually agreed upon contract with Anthem.

The hospital says the sticking point is getting Anthem to pay the hospital and its physician’s rates comparable with other providers in the region.

E. Kyle Bennett, President and CEO of Memorial Hospital says Anthem’s low payments are just not sustainable.

Memorial Hospital has set up a web page to provide answers to frequently asked questions and a contact phone number for specific questions.
