Local Farms Honored At State Fair

Area legislators yesterday announced the latest recipients of the Hoosier Homestead Award, which recognizes farms that have been owned and maintained by the same family for 100 years or more.

The Hoosier Homestead Award Program honors families that have made significant contributions to Indiana agriculture.

The farms receiving Centennial Awards include the Block and Dawson farm in Gibson County; the Mehling farm in Spencer County; the Patmore farm in Spencer County; and the Schuler Temple farm in Dubois County.
