Gov. Holcomb Criticized on Highway Spending Move

Some state lawmakers are not too happy with Governor Eric Holcomb’s unilateral move to spend a billion dollars in revenue from a renegotiated lease of the Indiana Toll Road without their approval.

Holcomb announced the windfall in September, which will lead to a major increase in toll fees for drivers of large commercial vehicles.

His administration argues that the deal, and the spending, is well within their legal authority and will go toward road construction projects that need finishing like the final leg of I-69 between Martinsville and Indianapolis.
