Illinois Man Found Guilty of Evansville Murder

An East St. Louis, Illinois man was found guilty Wednesday of a murder at an Evansville motel in January of last year.

36-year-old Ryan Connors was part of a traveling church group from North Carolina.

Connors stabbed the church leader, Abery Shoe, to death and also stabbed another member of the church.

The church member played dead so Connors wouldn’t stab him again.

Connors took a bag of money and was arrested later in Kentucky.

He could get as much as 105 years in prison when he’s sentenced in September.
