The Project Architect on the City of Vincennes’ Riverview Project says he expects the former Robinson Grain Elevator on 1st Street to be torn down in October to make way for the three-phase project.
Andy Myszak tells the city’s Redevelopment Commission construction on the Riverview Apartments is expected to begin in November with completion in late 2019 and the first tenants moving in in 2020.
Also, work on 22 new three bedroom homes is expected to begin in November of this year.
The houses will be constructed on city blight elimination sites and at McCormick Place.
Myszak says the goal is to provide available, affordable housing for the community.
