IU Fraternity Ordered to Disband

Citing violations of Indiana University’s hazing and alcohol policies, a fraternity on the Bloomington campus is being ordered to disband.

The IU-chapter of Sigma Nu has been shut down.

The school says the fraternity was on disciplinary probation, which was set to end in December, but it violated several agreed upon procedures and plans of that probation and has since been suspended by its national office.

Hazing and alcohol violations were at the root of the closure.
